A new ETF has just launched this week on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) looking to help investor reduce their portfolios carbon footprint. The Lion-OCBC Securities Singapore Low Carbon ETF (ESG) already exists in the US under the ticker (ESU) with over $60 million under management but the launch makes it the first low carbon ETF on the SGX. ESG follows the iEdge-OCBC Singapore Low Carbon Select 50 Capped Index which offers exposure to 50 of Singapore’s companies and trusts with the lowest carbon intensity performances.
ETF Newz Says:
Similar low carbon ETFs have launched this year but so far their returns haven’t been positive.
