WisdomTree has introduced the WisdomTree Renewable Energy Ucits ETF to its lineup of thematic ETFs. This Article 9 fund will track the WisdomTree Renewable Energy Index, which represents the performance of global companies involved in the renewable energy value chain. The ETF will have a total expense ratio of 0.45%.
To launch the fund and ensure informed stock selection for the index, WisdomTree has partnered with Wood Mackenzie, an energy transition research and consulting firm. The index will include securities that are engaged in activities such as enabling renewable energy grids, supplying key raw materials, or generating renewable power.
WisdomTree emphasizes the importance of electrification, renewables, and emerging technologies like carbon capture and storage and industrial-scale hydrogen in reducing CO2 emissions and decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors. The firm believes that renewable energy is crucial in the fight against climate change and sees several key drivers that can drive the growth of renewable energy usage.
