iShares MSCI USA Quality Factor ETF (QUAL) Outperforms in 2023

Share post:

Among the top 10 ETF asset gatherers this year, the iShares MSCI USA Quality Factor ETF (QUAL) has emerged as the standout performer. With an impressive gain of 18.2% this year, QUAL has managed to surpass the returns of both the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO), which posted a 13.6% return, and the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV). The stellar performance of QUAL can be attributed to its significant holdings in low-debt, highly profitable tech companies that have been on a winning streak this year.

ETF Newz Says:

One of the standout contributors to QUAL’s success this year has been its 6.4% allocation in Nvidia. This tech giant has been on a meteoric rise, significantly boosting the ETF’s performance. Additionally, with a 4.7% stake in Meta Platforms, QUAL has further benefited from the company’s exceptional performance in 2023. It’s noteworthy that both Nvidia and Meta Platforms have seen their stock prices nearly triple this year.
