Unit Investment Trusts (UIT)

A UIT is a type of fund that is first issued through an IPO (initial public offering). A UIT will offer investors various assets with a limited number of shares as well as a date of expiration. UITs were created to give capital appreciation over time and can be bought and sold directly from an investment company after inception.
