Manulife Investment Management has introduced two new actively managed Manulife Smart Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) that have completed their initial offering of units and are now available for trading on the NEO Exchange. The Manulife Smart Global Dividend ETF Portfolio (GDIV) and the Manulife Smart Global Bond ETF (GBND) are managed by the Multi-Asset Solutions Team at Manulife Investment Management. These ETFs aim to offer investors additional income generation options within their investment portfolios.

Yanic Chagnon, the Head of Investment Product, Canada, at Manulife Investment Management, expressed satisfaction with the expansion of the ETF suite and the provision of two new solutions for investors seeking income opportunities across different asset classes. The Manulife Smart Global Dividend ETF Portfolio (GDIV) primarily invests in underlying ETFs managed by Manulife Investment Management that provide exposure to a diversified portfolio of global dividend-paying securities. Its objective is to provide a steady flow of income and long-term capital appreciation. On the other hand, the Manulife Smart Global Bond ETF (GBND) aims to generate the highest level of income while preserving capital by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of fixed income securities issued by government and corporate issuers worldwide.

The Manulife Smart Global Dividend ETF Portfolio is managed by members of the Manulife Multi-Asset Solutions Team (MAST), including Jamie Robertson, senior portfolio manager, head of asset allocation–Canada, and global head of tactical asset allocation, along with Alexandre Richard, CFA, portfolio manager. The Manulife Smart Global Bond ETF is managed by members of the Manulife Systematic Fixed Income Beta Team, also a part of MAST. The team includes Nicholas Scipio del Campo, CFA, portfolio manager, head of liability-driven instruments – U.S. and Asia; Jean-Francois Giroux, CFA, FRM, portfolio manager and head of LDI Canada; Sonia Chatigny, CFA, managing director and portfolio manager; and Christina Somers, CFA, portfolio manager.
