Columbia Threadneedle Investments has launched a new exchange-traded fund (ETF), the Columbia Research Enhanced Real Estate ETF (CRED), to provide investors with a cost-effective way to access the real estate sector. The ETF tracks a custom, proprietary index designed to outperform the FTSE Nareit All Equity REITs Index through research-driven security selection and modified market cap weighting that emphasizes income and geographic opportunity. The ETF is managed by Christopher Lo and Henry Hom, portfolio managers in Columbia Threadneedle’s Managed and Indexed Portfolio Solutions team, and will serve as a core allocation to the US real estate sector in an investment portfolio.
ETF Newz Says:
CRED has an expense ratio of 33 basis points and represents the first collaboration between Columbia Threadneedle Investments and its institutional real estate investment subsidiary, Lionstone Investments.
