BBH survey shows continued strong interest in ETFs, with investors eyeing active and ESG options

According to Brown Brothers Harriman’s 10th annual global ETF investor survey, 61% of investors plan to increase their allocations to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) over the next 12 months, although this figure is down 23 percentage points from last year. The survey found that 55% of investors have more than 25% of their portfolios invested in ETFs, and 69% of investors plan to maintain or increase allocations to commodity ETFs. The survey also revealed that 82% of investors plan to increase or maintain their exposures to active ETFs, while 50% of respondents indicated that they plan to add environmental, social and governance (ESG) ETF exposures this year.
