The regulation groups in China and Hong Kong have recently agreed to allow ETFs to be included in Stock Connect. Launched by HKEX, the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect is a cross-boundary investment vehicle which connects the Shanghai Stock Exchange to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange allowing investors in the Mainland and Hong Kong to trade each others ETFs freely through local firms and brokerages. A quote from HKEX states, “ETF inclusion in Stock Connect will be mutually beneficial to both Mainland China and Hong Kong’s capital markets, supporting the continued sustainable growth of both, at a time that participants and customers are demanding ever more and better connectivity.”
ETF Newz Says:
The inclusion of ETFs in Stock Connect will help to get more exposure for all ETFs from Mainland China and Hong Kong.
